Dear Yuletider,
I'm sure I'll like whatever you make for me, so just have fun! I know this letter got a little long, and there are some canons that have more prompts than others, but that just means I had a lot of ideas for those (or had a past letter to copy & paste from). If I requested a character or canon, I would be happy to see just about anything for them!
Please don’t feel like you have to include all of my requested characters.

Kelsey's 100 Baby Challenge
Characters:
Brielle Impiccishmay, Chelsea Impiccishmay, Kasey Impiccishmay, Gavin McIntoshI've gotten weirdly into this series this year (found on YouTube
here)-- it's a fairly common challenge in the Sims community, but Kelsey's playstyle is fun and the situations her Sims find themselves in are delightfully absurd.
Brielle is the only one of the children in the tagset, but I'm totally okay with including any of the others if you feel moved to do so. I have seen all the 100 Baby spinoff series (Olive, Brielle, Vampire Twins, Ginny & Willow, and Strangerville), if you want to draw from those.
Something that plays with the game mechanics would be interesting-- do Chelsea or Kasey ever feel like someone out there is controlling them? Or compelling them to go out and make babies? It could also be interesting to have something written from the POV of one of the ghosts that has hung around the family! Gavin no longer haunts the Impiccishmays, but what was it like for him when he was around? (Especially because he was never actually a baby daddy?) Or maybe something from Chelsea or even Harry's perspective as a ghost-- what is it like to be around their family as a ghost? Or some sort of creeping horror about exactly what it's like in the Impiccishmay Baby Factory? Or just a day in the life of the Impiccishmay household?
Little Women
Characters:
Josie Brooke, Nan Harding, Dan Kean, Bess LaurenceMy Ships:
Josie/Nan, Josie/Dan, Josie/Bess, Josie/OFC, Nan/Dan, Nan/Bess, Nan/OFC, Dan/BessEarlier this year I re-read
Little Men and
Jo's Boys, the last two books in the Little Women series, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about the possibilities for these four characters-- probably my favorite four characters in the series. The books are available for free through Project Gutenberg here:
Little Men and
Jo's Boys.
This series is one of my long-time comfort reads. I love going back and revisiting all the characters at Plumfield, and these four are some of my favorites. As you can see, I ship them in just about every permutation, and I would love anything you want to give me about them-- I love domestic stories, similar to canon, but I'd also love fun and tropey stories if that's where you're leaning!
I love Josie's ambition, and her drive to be an actress. She's very sensible about it, but she refuses to give up as long as there's the slimmest chance that she might be able to make it. I would love to see anything about her and her theater career. I'd love to see how she might navigate the world of theater-- possibly with a more experienced actress by her side to help her?
Nan has always been one of my favorites-- we get to see her as a young child and as an adult, and I love seeing how she changes. I also love how driven and ambitious she is, and how sure she is about what she wants. Not only is she determined to become a surgeon, but she's also a suffragette! Honestly, I'd love anything about Nan and her drive to become a reformer, as well as her relationships with the others.
Dan is another one of my forever faves (#JusticeForDan2k19)! I love his adventures out West, and I love his relationships with the family at Plumfield-- especially his relationship with Jo. The ending to his story always bothered me; I didn't like that he was basically told that he wasn't good enough for Bess and his eventual death always struck me as really sad. But for this, I'd love anything about him with one of the other characters-- adventures back at Plumfield, or maybe they actually do go West and start Danville would be especially great.
I've always had a little bit of a hard time getting a read on Bess. In the books, she's treated a little bit like an angelic creature, who is just gracing everyone else with her presence. But I'd love something that got inside her head a little bit-- what does she want in life, besides her art? Does she ever feel like she's been put up on a pedestal and resent that? How would she navigate a conflict with parents who have an idealized image of her in their heads?
Mongolian Royalty RPF
Characters:
Toregene Khatun, Fatima, KhutulunMy ships:
Toregene/Fatima, Khutulun/OCI’ll be listing some online resources and primers for the curious at the bottom of this post, but if you really want to dive deep, Jack Weatherford’s The Secret History of the Mongol Queens is super accessible and is the best English-language resource you’re going to find-- try your local library.
I’m not looking for anyone to become an expert in the subject overnight-- hell, I’m certainly not an expert! This is just fanfiction, after all. What I’ll be requesting (and hoping to write!) is fictionalized takes on events that we’re pretty sure actually happened, as well as events that never actually took place-- things that might have been. If this sounds at all interesting to you, please come play in this sandbox with me and don’t let the idea of historical research put you off! I got into this on Christmas Eve in 2017 because someone’s prompt got into my head and I couldn’t quite think of a good way to fill it...until I listened to the Missed In History podcast episode on Khutulun.
I’ve labelled the prompts for this section, as well, in case you just want to skip ahead to those.
KhutulunIf you’ve heard of any of these figures, it’s probably Khutulun. She’s relatively well-known in the Western world, for a simple reason: Marco Polo met her on his expedition (in addition to a whole bunch of other people, but the one we’re familiar with in the West is Marco Polo).
The basics: after the Mongol Empire began to fracture and collapse into civil war, Khutulun (Genghis Khan's great-great granddaughter) fought alongside her father, Kaidu Khan. She also reportedly was an amazing wrestler and would not marry a man unless he could best her at wrestling, and won 10,000+ horses from men who tried to win her hand in marriage. There’s an additional, even more unsubstantiated story about how an assassin came to Kaidu Khan’s camp, intending to kill Kaidu Khan, but Khutulun stopped him. The nameless assassin then swore his service to Kaidu Khan and stayed there for many years... eventually marrying Khutulun (without beating her in wrestling).
Prompts: Anything about Khutulun winning 10000 horses through wrestling, or about why she vowed not to marry a man who could not best her at wrestling. Or maybe something about that assassin-- how did Khutulun stop him? How did they fall in love? Was the assassin actually a man-- maybe they were really a woman (disguised or not) and that’s exactly what Khutulun was waiting for.

Toregene Khatun & FatimaI’m talking about these women together because their stories are intertwined. Warning, though: I’m not talking in detail about it here, but any in-depth discussion of these women is going to touch on some pretty nasty stuff, including torture.
Now, Toregene was married to a useless prince who became Great Khan, and she basically held the empire together. In fact, after his death, she consolidated power and remained as empress-- with her loyal servant Fatima by her side.
Notably, Fatima and Toregene shared a tent and "intimate confidences", and Toregene named Fatima queen. Does that mean they were together? Well, it’s difficult, if not impossible, to know the sexuality of any historical figure if we don’t have their own words, and historical conceptions of sex and sexuality were different than our own (although LGBTQ+ people have always existed!). None of that actually matters though, because this is fanfiction, and you are free to make shit up. And in my opinion, Toregene and Fatima are very shippy.
Their lives ended in tragedy-- they retired together in quiet, but Fatima was accused of witchcraft and executed shortly thereafter, and Toregene died of unknown causes. But while they lived, they were both pretty badass (and I totally ship them).
Prompts: Fix-it fic, where Fatima and Toregene both live out their quiet retirement in peace? Or maybe Fatima really was a witch-- and between Toregene’s political maneuvering and her own powers, they never needed to give up ruling the empire at all.

Six of Crows
Characters:
Inej Ghafa, Nina ZenikMy ships:
Inej/NinaI love Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom! Heists are my FAVORITE and a fantasy heist with magic and steampunk technology? EVEN BETTER! I love Inej and her quiet determination and her faith, and how she uses her trauma to find a purpose (stopping slavers!!! MY HEART). And I love Nina and her ferocity and all of her experiences with jurda parem-- and how she claws her way back from that.
I absolutely adore these two in the Six of Crow books. A lot of the fic about them tends to be on the fluffy side, and I’m not saying I want a 24/7 angstfest (or no waffles at all), but I would like a little more angst, especially with the combined weight of their Tragic Pasts! I’d love something set post-canon, with Nina signing on to join Inej in fighting slavers or Inej comforting Nina after Matthias’ death. Or pre-canon, where the two girls have a certain kind of understanding amid the Dregs. I’m cool with mentions of Nina’s canon relationship with Matthias, as long as it’s in the past.
And I’m just saying...this would be an excellent pairing for knifeplay.
If you're looking to write something a little different, I'm not particularly into the idea of Kaz/Inej as they are in canon, but I'd be really interested in how their relationship might look different if Kaz were a woman.
Steerswoman
Characters:
Bel, RowanMy ships:
Rowan/BelI love all the characters in this series, but I’m only requesting Rowan and Bel because they’re my absolute favorites. Please feel free to include anyone else you like! (I’ve got a special soft spot for Will and his interactions with the two women, especially in light of how much he’s changed.)
I’d usually say I’m not a fan of overexplaining things like magic, but Steerswoman is the exception to the rule. I just adore every passage of Rowan figuring things out through questions, observation, and logic. The chapters in the demons’ city gives me absolute chills, and the passages where Rowan tries to learn from Will about what “magic” is through the few shared terms and analogies they have is absolutely perfect.
Even more than her logical mind, I love Rowan’s sense of honor and how strictly she adheres to the Steerswomens’ rules-- her difficulty with any form of deception, especially in the first book, only makes her more fun for me. And I love seeing her through others’ eyes: the passages from Steffie and Will’s points of view are great.
And of course, I adore Bel. She plays off of Rowan just perfectly, with a similar sense of honor but an entirely different way of expressing it. And she’s so passionate about protecting her people--
all of her people-- from outside harm. And of course, I’m a sucker for a woman with a sword. Rowan and Bel see the world entirely differently, but they work together super well.
I’d love some missing scenes! Give me some small, quiet moments when they were in the Outlands, or the time they spent together in the time in between books 3 and 4, while traveling. Or maybe an outside POV on one or both of them, or a look at what might happen next.
Unstoppable Wasp
Characters:
Nadia Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne, Ying LiuMy ships:
Nadia/Ying, Nadia/Kamala, Ying/ShayI read The Unstoppable Wasp (2017) vol. 1 & 2 earlier this year, and I loved it. I love all of the characters in the tagset (so feel free to include them!) but these three are my especial favorites.
I'm not particularly familiar with a lot of other Marvel comics, so I probably won't understand things that happen outside of this run.
This series was a delight, and I adored just about every moment of it: the superheroics! the teenage girls setting up a lab to do science! the ball Jan throws to celebrate them! their new and improved lab with sleepover rooms! Honestly, it's all just fantastic.
I love Nadia's outlook on life-- she's just so quick to embrace new experiences and new people. She leaves violence as a last resort, but she's definitely capable of kicking some ass. I'd love to see more of her being a superhero, or of her doing science with the other girls, or of her bonding with Jan, or anything, honestly.
I absolutely adore Janet. She doesn't have to have any kind of responsibility toward Nadia, but she cares about her and tries to protect her-- and she quickly ends up caring about all the other girls, too. One of my favorite scenes was when she and Nadia talked about Hank-- I don't think you need to touch on that subject any more (canon did a pretty good job!) but I'd love anything that captured what their relationship like that scene did. I'd also love Jan getting to be a superhero mentor to Nadia and Ying and any of the others that get caught up in superheroics.
Ying is both a badass and a dork and I love her. I'd love to see more of her making friends with the other girls, or experiencing the world outside the Red Room with Nadia, or doing science, or really just anything. Honestly, I really love Ying.
