Yuletide 2021
Oct. 19th, 2021 02:29 pmDear Yuletider,
I'm sure I'll like whatever you make for me, so just have fun! If I requested a character or canon, I would be happy to see just about anything for them!
Please don’t feel like you have to include all of my requested characters.

A note on worldbuilding: I am most interested in worldbuilding stories that delve into minor characters or well-developed OCs and use them to explore aspects of the world that only get passing mentions in canon. I'm also interested in how major canon events are seen by or effect folks who don't get a focus in the main storyline. You can find more specific prompts below!
Melissa Foddebrat, Nine, Yuri Elizabeth
Ships: Nine/Melissa/Yuri
The official English translation can be found on Tapas and unofficial translations are available elsewhere online. I stay caught up with the unofficial translations.
If you write the OT3, I'm great with it as either a triad or as a V with Melissa at the center.
This comic starts off with a pretty standard premise: a girl from modern-day Korea gets reincarnated into a novel as the villainess. But unlike most, she's not too bothered by it: there's no especially horrible fate awaiting her, and she just wants to live her life as peacefully as possible. Unfortunately, the male leads keep making her life more complicated, as does her quickly blossoming friendship with the female lead. Additionally, there are hints that all is not exactly as it seemed in the original novel...
I love this ridiculous comic. I love Melissa's ferocity and her willingness to protect her people, and how good she is at swordfighting (even if she is helped along a little by her magic sword). I love that Nine had basically resigned himself to his fate before meeting Melissa, but is now her her staunchest supporter and utterly devoted to her. I love Yuri, and how, even with all of her power, she never believed things could be different for her until Melissa changed the story. Honestly, I am here for all the swordfighting and the magic and the hijinks and Melissa kicking ass. Have fun with it!
A note on my DNW for breakup of canon relationships: I'm fine with canon-typical handling of Ian and any other exes in this comic. I'd like the focus to be on the groups I'm asking for, but feel free to have other characters show up and their histories be alluded to as necessary.
Hecate, Artemis, Daphne, Minthe
Ships: Hecate/OFC, Daphne/Thanatos, Artemis/OFC
This comic can be found on Webtoons, and I stay fully caught up. Volume One is also available in paperback.
I'm at least passingly familiar with a large amount of Greek mythology, so if you want to draw from that for this fic, please feel free! But please keep whatever you write based in the world of Lore Olympus.
Lore Olympus retells a number of Greek myths, but the main story is the romance between Hades and Persephone. It deals with themes of overcoming trauma, and is set in a world where the immortals have sports cars and cell phones. It has gorgeous and unique art, and is just a lot of fun to read.
Artemis is one of my all-around favorites in the world of Lore Olympus. She's so earnest, and she's trying so hard-- trying to be a good member of the Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood, trying to be a good friend. She knows there's something off about Persephone, but no one will tell her what's going on. I'd love to see if something or someone could challenge Artemis's dedication to TGOEM! I suspect the comic in the upcoming months will deal with the emotional fallout of Artemis finding out about Apollo's actions, but even if that's the case, I'd love for you to delve into that! I'd also just love more of Artemis and Persephone's friendship!
Hecate a cthonic goddess, who predates Hades's arrival in and rule over the Underworld. I love her no-nonsense attitude and the softness she seems to only show to her friends-- she cares deeply about them, but that doesn't mean she has to put it on display. Tell me more about relationships she might have had over her long life, or about those early years when Hades first came to rule the Underworld, or about her work as the chief assistant at Underworld Corp! Or more of Hecate's and Persephone's friendship, or something about the other gods and goddesses she's friends with!
Daphne is an interesting mirror to a couple of other characters in the comic: she's a beautiful flower nymph, new to Olympus, and with a snazzy modelling contract. She's also willing to see the best in people, and was taken in by Apollo for a while, before Persephone warned her off, and saw the good that was actually there in Thanatos. I'd love more about her and Thanatos, especially after her transformation back. Or something about her perspective on Olympus after growing up in the mortal realm! Or about her friendship with Persephone or her nymph sisters!
Minthe is probably the most hated character in the comic, judging by the comics. And honestly, I get it! She's a social climber and a schemer and just plain mean. When we first meet her, she and Hades are in an incredibly toxic on-again, off-again relationship. But she's also self-destructive and self-conscious and insecure, and is easily manipulated, even as she's manipulating others. There are moments when she has flashes of insight into herself and seems to want to be better, but she keeps bringing herself back down. I would love something about what happens after she turns back from a plant-- I don't expect her to just stop resenting Persephone, especially after the whole plant incident, but I think it would be interesting if Minthe were able to move on, or to figure out who she really wants to be.
Navier, Worldbuilding
Ships: Navier/Heinrey
This comic can be found on Webtoons, and (as of this writing) is currently on hiatus after season 1. I am fully caught up, and I'm also working my way through the English translation of the light novel.
The comic opens with a prologue, in which the ruler of the Eastern Empire announces he's divorcing his empress in favor of his mistress. Navier, the now-former empress agrees...if he will grant her a remarriage, and presents the king of the Western Kingdom as her new fiance. The rest of Season 1 shows how we got there, and a little beyond. It's honestly worth it just for the gorgeous art, although the story is also very fun.
Navier is honestly so interesting to me! She's been training to be empress for nearly her entire life, and is incredibly dedicated to doing right by her people. She also has an amicable reputation with Sovieshu-- or at least, it seems that way from her perspective. I think it's really interesting how she was going to take the high road and ignore Rashta until her hand was forced! I also really enjoy her relationship with Heinrey, and how they slowly become closer. I also love how quickly Heinrey falls for her, and how reckless he is in pursuing her.
I'm also interested in the worldbuilding here! We know that there's an Eastern Empire and a Western Kingdom (now a Western Empire), and the Kingdom of Luipt. There's a bit of information about mages and the Academy, and some tantalizing hints about some trouble going on there, as well as the shapeshifting magic that Heinrey has. I'd love more about what it's like to live in this world, or about what the events of the comic look like from an outsider POV, or whatever else you want to explore!
Malori Crewet, Velverosa, Worldbuilding
Ships: Malori/Vel
This comic can be found on Webtoons and I stay fully caught up.
This somewhat absurd and raunchy comedy takes place in a world that seems to run on RPG mechanics, in which Malori Crewit (rank 1 mage) regularly tries to convince the demon queen Velverosa to marry her. It's cute, it's funny, and the growing relationship between Malori and Vel is really sweet.
Malori is a genius when it comes to magic...and kind of dumb when it comes to everything else. She has secrets (and not just the ones about how obsessed she is with the demon queen) but she's very single-minded. I really love that she learns that she needs to think bigger and make the world better. I also love that she's absolutely incorrigible when it comes to Vel.
Velverosa is a tsundere. There's no way around it. But she's also sexy and secretly kind and cares about her people, and she has moments of vulnerability. Also she can turn into a dragon, which is just... really fucking cool. I'd love more about her and Mal working together to create a better world for both humans and demons, or about them on adventures together, or any kind of sexy times.
Leora snuck up on me as a favorite tertiary character! I love that she's casually trans, and that her real problems are that she's too sheltered and that she has a limited understanding of the problems going on in the kingdom. I'm also really fascinated by her summoning abilities!
We get a fair bit of worldbuilding in canon, especially about how humans and demons interact, but I'd love more! I'd love to see Vel and Malori's taboo relationship through someone else's eyes. Or tell me more about the mechanics of the world! What is it like to be able to revive from death? How do the different classes work, in-universe? Tell me about the villagers of Aphtos, now that they've been annexed into the demon kingdom! Or about the hidden elven villages!
Thank you again for whatever you choose to write for me!
