Dark Matter

Requested Characters: Two, Five
Ships: Two/Nyx, Two/Android

Fandom-specific notes: My usual DNW for brainwashing/mental horror/fucking around inside people's minds doesn't apply to the canon-typical memory fuckery. DNW putting nuclear family labels on any crew-as-family dynamics (aka no referring to Two as the mom of the crew or whatever). I'm not really interested in anything set pre-canon, but of course complications arising from their pasts is always fun.

I love this group of criminal misfits. I love that they're dysfunctional and don't get along half the time but are also willing to go to extreme lengths for each other. I love that they fuck up and keep fucking up and sometimes those choices and mistakes are fixable (Six) and sometimes they really aren't (Four). I love how conflicted our original crew members are about the people they used to be, and the ways they try to differentiate themselves. I like that when most of our characters see glimpses of the people they used to be, they're angry and upset and want to do better. No one on the Raza is ever under the impression that they're heroes, but they do their best with what they're given. I also really just love the themes that run throughout the show of autonomy and choosing your own destiny.

I would love more canon-typical adventures, which in this canon could mean almost anything. Heists, time travel, time loops, alternate universes, zombies, space battles... it's all canon and I love it all. I'd also like canon-divergent AUs: what if One and/or Sarah and/or Nyx and/or Six lived? What if Four didn't reintegrate his memories? There's also a lot of room for missing scenes and moments, and the finale left some threads unresolved. There's an alien threat still out there (and inside of Two), both Five and Two have long-lost family members, Three is a prisoner of Portia Lin, and a looming android revolt. What happens next?

Five
I love Five. I love that even in the beginning, when she's afraid and wary of her new crew mates, she's still more clever than most of them give her credit for. At first, the violence surrounding her is terrifying and upsetting, and violence is almost never her first resort, but she's willing to do whatever she has to in order to protect her newly found family. And I love that the crew quickly realizes how capable she is, and that she's both helpful and dangerous in her own right. I like that the rest of the crew is driven to protect her and teach her to protect herself. She's the heart of this little crew, always reminding the others that they're friends or family and that they have to rely on one another.

I love how much respect Five has for Two, right from the beginning. It's a little rough at a couple points, but they're so close by the end of the show. I like that Two starts out doing her best to protect Five and shelter her from life on the Raza, but also that she comes to respect Five's abilities and what she can bring to the team. I love how much they care about each other, and how well they work together.

Two
Two is one of my absolute favorites in this show. She's willing to step up and lead when the rest of the crew can't get their act together, and she keeps their respect throughout the show. I love her journey to discover her dark past, and her insistence that she's not Rebecca or Portia, but Two. I love that she's the ultimate badass-- not just because of her nanites, but because of her willpower. She's fiercely protective of her ship and her crew, even when she's at odds with them, and I love how willing she always is to sacrifice herself for them.

Doctor Aphra

Requested Characters: Aphra
Ships: Aphra/any woman, tbh

I absolutely adore Aphra. I love how amoral and self-serving she is, even when she's perfectly aware that she's only hurting herself in the long term. I love how smart she is, and how those smarts get her both into and out of trouble. Like Mar-Mas Voor says, she always looks after herself, she always betrays people, and she always feels guilty afterward.

I'd love to see more of her adventures! Maybe it's a run-of-the-mill (for her) trip into an abandoned temple to find valuable artifacts, or maybe she runs afoul of the Empire or the Rebellion (or both). I also really love her relationship with Vulaada; Aphra's not exactly the maternal type, but she cares about Vu in her own way.

I'm open to pairing her with Sana, Tolvan, or any other woman (canon or OC) in the GFFA.

Nv Er Hong

Requested Characters: Hua Yutang, Shiyi

This is a f/f Chinese webseries that is just over one hour long, available with English subtitles here.

A quick summary: 200 years ago, the immortal demon Shiyi was mortally wounded and imprisoned in ice by her lover Hua Yutang. When Shiyi wakes, she has lost all of her memories and continues to suffer from insatiable blood lust. She finds herself in Busi Lodge, under the care of the healer Hua Yutang, Hua Yutang's disciple Lingzhi, and Hua Yutang's other patient, Qi Tianlin. But outside of the neutral Busi Lodge, the jianghi is in turmoil, and trouble is coming for them...

Immortal, messy, occasionally murderous girlfriends! Hua Yutang's blood has healing properties and you'd better believe this series leans into the sexy blood drinking. The supporting couple (Lingzhi/Qi Tianlin) is cute, and there's some fun fight scenes. And the backstory we eventually get for Shiyi and Hua Yutang is rife with possiblities.

I'd love more exploration of Shiyi and Hua Yutang's backstory! More about the 200 years Hua Yutang was on her own, including how she ended up taking Lingzhi in! Further adventures for our main characters!

There’s so many possibilities here! Did Shiyi and Hua Yutang know each other before the military program, or did they only meet once there? Were they already close before they ended up in their new realm? It seems like they had some time together before the blood lust took over Shiyi; what was that like? I’m also interested in what might happen next— are their troubles with the rest of the martial world over?

I'd also love to see more adventures with all four of our main characters post-canon! More adventures within the martial world would be great-- maybe some other sect leader gets wind of the immortal demonesses at Busi Lodge and is uneasy about them?

Scholomance

Requested Characters: El Higgins

I love El so so so much. She's prickly and she's angry and she doesn't like most people, and she has the power to destroy entire civilizations at her fingertips, and she still chooses— constantly chooses, at each juncture— to do good. She's not nice, but she's kind. And I love her journey from hating the system but accepting it as the way things are to actively turning it on its head.

I have so many feelings about her-- about how she has the powers to destroy anything and everything at her fingertips and every single day she chooses not to do that. About how she's angry and unforgiving and not particularly nice, but she's still so capable of kindness, and how she's so cynical about how the world works and she still saves it with the powers of love and friendship (with a little bit of incredible violence backing those up). About that scene in the gym, when an all out war almost breaks out amongst the factions of Scholomance kids, and El singlehandedly puts an end to it by telling them if she wanted them dead, they'd all be dead. About how she doesn't even like most people but how she still chooses to save as many as she can because if she doesn't, that's the path to evil.

And I love how she inspires loyalty in people. It starts so small, when she first becomes Orion's friend and brings Liu and Aad along with her because they're some of the only people who have treated her decently, and it just keeps building. All the moments in the third book when her classmates look to her for help and listen to her and are willing to follow her lead, because they know what she's willing to do for no payback at all? Beautiful.

Feel free to delve into any of her relationships— her friends, her classmates, her little freshman ducklings, her mum, her extended family, her romances with Liesel and Orion. I love them all and am absolutely fascinated by them. I'd also love some outsider POV on El; she's terrifying and awe-inspiring and also just very very weird.

For Liesel/El and/or El/Orion, I kind of headcanon all of them having open relationships and Liesel/El, El/Orion, and Liesel/Alfie as all having relationships, but if you don't want to go that route, I'd be fine with any of the couples being broken up as long as they're still friends.

I don't normally ask for crossovers for Yuletide, but if you are inspired to write a Murderbot/Scholomance crossover, I would be delighted. I just think El and Murderbot have a lot in common-- saving people while also kind of hating people, not understanding why people want to be their friends, feeling like a monster but choosing to do the right thing anyway-- and I think it would be very fun to see them interact.
