Marvel Femslash Exchange Recs
The Marvel Femslash Exchange is revealed! I got two amazing gifts, and everything I read in the rest of the collection was pretty great, too.
I’m listing my recs here. My gifts are noted with a *. All of my recs are for the MCU.
Hesitation
Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau, rated T, 1.1k words
Neither Maria or Carol are who they were before and they find themselves hesitant around each other as they discuss second chances and just what Carol remembers of their relationship.
I love this look at how Maria & Carol aren’t the same people they were six years before, and can’t have the same kind of relationship-- but that doesn’t mean they can’t have anything.
leaving
Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau, rated G, 1.4k words
a snapshot of Carol and Maria
This is bittersweet, with a bit more hurt than comfort. It’s definitely true to the title. Maria and Carol have each other, but they still have other responsibilities, and those weigh on them pretty heavily. That said, this fic is absolutely lovely.
There’s Mess
Carol Danvers/Minn-Erva, rated E, 3k words
“Glad we could play a part in your journey of self-discovery,” Minn-Erva said.
Carol shrugged. “You break it, you buy it. Why were you following me?”
Porn with complicated feelings. Or maybe it’s a fic about Carol’s complicated feelings about her identity and about the Kree, interspersed with porn. Either way, it’s fantastic.
What’s Good For You
Carol Danvers/Minn-Erva, rated E, 1.1k words
'You like this,' Minn-Erva promises. Vers doesn't know any different.
Unnnf. A very hot dub-con PWP in which Minn-Erva knowingly takes advantage of Carol’s amnesia and false memories.
Lost in Alfheim*
Jane Foster/Gamora, rated G, 0 words
Fanart
An experiment with wormholes lands Jane in another extraterrestrial adventure.
One of my absolutely fantastic gifts! This one is art of Gamora and Jane in the style of a movie poster, and I love it.
intelligence beyond compare
Jane Foster/Maya Hansen, rated G, 1.1k words
Maya did not come all the way to London to meet Jane Foster. No, she came because her cousin was getting married there. If she happened upon Foster’s office, well…
This is super cute, and I absolutely love Maya and Jane getting together and talking science and eventually falling for each other.
fast, thorough, sharp as a tack
Maria Hill/Natasha Romanov, rated T, 3.5k words
Natasha likes getting a rise out of Hill when nobody else can. She likes calculating the slope of Hill’s scowl from across the cafeteria, and the delicate curl of her pale hands when Natasha’s name pushes hers off the record board. She likes the way Hill sights her target like there’s nothing else in the world, but then smiles at Natasha with all her teeth, like a shark. She likes--
She just likes to win, that's all.
This fic is an absolute delight-- Maria and Natasha flirt by continually one-upping each other in increasingly ridiculous competitions, without realizing what they’re doing. I don’t think I can express how great this fic is; it’s just tons of fun.
spare magazines
Maria Hill/Natasha Romanov rated G, 711 words
They meet for the first time with their backs pressed against the hard concrete.
Maria knows her name is Natasha Romanov - and yeah, sure, she read her file, but she doesn’t know her. Maria doesn’t doubt that the other woman must feel the same way about her.
This is a great little shortfic about a first meeting between Maria and Natasha. It’s very low-key on the relationship side, but I think that’s part of why it works.
The Good of All Kree
Minn-Erva/Nebula, rated E, 6.6k words
When Thanos and Ronan and Sanctuary itself get to be too much, Minn-Erva retreats to the training room in the ship's bowels. The thing is, Nebula's always there, too.
Beautifully written and scorching hot. I love the Minn-Erva POV here-- she’s appropriately cynical, and yet sympathetic.
the night’s just getting started
Okoye/Shuri, rated G, 0 words
Fanart
Okoye serving as a bodyguard for Shuri on a night out.
Another gorgeous fanart! It’s fun and colorful and you should go look at it right now!
Mission: Romance
Pepper Potts/Natasha Romanov, rated G, 1.8k words
"Why me? Aren't there half a dozen fancy gyms in this building in addition to Mr. Stark's private one? And a dozen trainers just dying to get their hands on you? Metaphorically, that is.”
While undercover as Natalie Rushman, Natasha starts to fall for Pepper-- and her feelings are returned. This fic is absolutely fantastic, and I love the way Natasha treads the line of seduction and deception here.
the bed we sleep in
Pepper Potts/Natasha Romanov, rated G, 100 words
Fanart
The way you start the day can mean so much, and a lot of the time, it depends on how you end it.
This is a gorgeous pencil drawing accompanied by a drabble, and I don’t think I can do justice to just how lovely it is.
Inside Woman*
Sharon Carter/Monica Rambeau, rated E, 6.5k words
Monica Rambeau, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., receives a very special assignment.
My other fantastic gift! There are a lot of things I love about this-- the blend of personal and professional relationship Fury and Monica have, all of the spy stuff Monica and Sharon engage in, the amazing sex scene, and the developing relationship between Monica and Sharon. Everything about it is just perfect.
