Dear Writer,

I'm sure I'll like whatever you make for me, so just have fun! I know there are some characters/pairings that have more prompts than others, but that just means I had a lot of ideas for those (or had a past letter to copy & paste from). If I requested a character, I would be happy to see just about anything for them!

Crossover Fandom

Andy |Andromache of Scythia (TOG)/Xena (Xena Warrior Princess)
Look, I just think they'd be awesome together. I'd love to see Andy in Xena's version of ancient Greece, with the two of them kicking ass and taking names and falling in love together.

Eve Baird (The Librarians)/Sophie Devereaux (Leverage)

DC Comics

Fandom-specific notes: If you're looking for more of my thoughts, my DC comics tag on tumblr is here.

Please do not write Cass as using ASL or as only using broken English.

I've also included links to reading guides/reading orders where I have them, if you need them.

Beatriz da Costa/Tora Olafsdotter
I love Bea so much; she's ridiculous and over the top and she tries very hard to act like she doesn't care about anything, under that tough shell she cares so deeply. (She actually has the longest tenure of any JLI member!) Tora is one of the few people who gets to see beneath Bea's tough shell, because Bea rarely feels like she has to put up a front with her.

Tora is so fascinating to me, because she tends to get underestimated by everyone, even her friends and teammates, because she's openly emotional and wears her heart on her sleeve, but she's a lot tougher than most of them give her credit for, and I love that. I think her relationships with the rest of the JLI are really interesting because Tora is probably the one person that gets along best with everyone on the team, but in interpersonal situations she can fade into the background unless she makes a point of making herself be heard-- which sometimes means people, even Bea, mistake her for being a pushover.

If you're familiar with it, I think it could also be fun to set something in the Justice League 3000 timeline, about the centuries they spent apart, or their reunion, or creating some closure for Justice League 3001.

For more thoughts, I have a mini ship manifesto here.

Reading Guide

Karen Starr/Helena Wayne
I feel like I've barely dipped my toe into all of the canon there is for these two, but I love everything I've read so far. They're ride-or-die best friends and teammates. They're out of place in a way only the other woman can totally understand. I'm an especially big fan of their dynamic in Worlds' Finest (2012), where they get accidentally displaced from their Earth and repeatedly save each other while clinging to one another tightly.

Helena Bertinelli/Dinah Lance
I am still veeeery slowly working my way through Birds of Prey (1998) but I love what I've seen of the Helena/Dinah dynamic.

Dinah Lance/Zatanna Zatara
These two get very few real interactions, except maybe some offhand conversation in Justice League books, but I read the Elseworlds book that features them when I first got into DC comics and it rewired my mind. They have such a fun powerset between the two of them, and they both have a parent whose legacy weighs heavily on them. Also, I'm shallow and I love the fishnets.

Don't feel like you have to set a story about them in that continuity; I'd love anything you come up with for these two!

Reading List: Black Canary and Zatanna: Bloodspell

Dinah Lance/Sandra Wu-San
For Dinah, I love her on her own. She's a badass martial artist who just happens to have superpowers; she can be prickly and difficult, but she also cares really deeply and she's very protective of the people she cares about. I find it so fascinating that she's a little bit afraid of her own capabilities-- she knows all too well that she's capable of killing people, but that's not the kind of person she wants to be.

For Shiva, aka Ming-Yue Wu aka Sandra Wu-San, she's such a complex character: I love that she's acknowledged by everyone as one of the best martial artists in the world, and that she uses her skill to seek out more and harder challenges for herself. She's not interested in being a hero, although she will occasionally work with them if it benefits her or she thinks it's interesting. I actually like the way that Brombal has managed to reconcile her various backstories in the current Batgirl run, but I'm good with any reading that doesn't turn Shiva into an outright villain/Dragon Lady.

And together, I really love the push and pull between them. They see themselves in each other, and that makes them push each other-- and that doesn't always end well. Nothing between them is ever going to last because Dinah will never stop being a hero, and Shiva will never do more than temporarily ally herself with the heroes. They're a mess and I love them.

I have a mini ship manifesto and reading list for them here and here.

Big Barda/Cassandra Cain
This ship is entirely based on their connection in BoP 2023, but their connection there is so strong and so instantaneous. They're both fighters, first and foremost, and they both take joy in that, and they have this innate understanding of each other. And it's not just physical fights; it's the way that Cass brings Barda back from brainwashing and then Barda later does the same for Cass. It's the little moments, like playing video games together. It's working together to train Sin (by playing laser tag with her). It's how viciously protective of each other they are.

Reading Guide: Birds of Prey (2023)

Barbara Ann Minerva/Jade Nguyen
They have such an interesting dynamic in Cheetah and Cheshire! They know each other so well, they have nicknames for each other and Barbara Ann even has one for Lian.

Reading Guide: Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League (2025)

Lois Lane/Renee Montoya
These two make such a great investigative duo, and I would love to see them together more. Give me the two of them fucking while they work together to expose supervillains or crime bosses! They also just have great chemistry together, when they're talking about things like the nature of truth or whether Lois is cheating on her husband with Superman. XD

Reading Guide: Lois Lane (2019)

Helena Bertinelli/Renee Montoya
I really love Renee as The Question! I really love her relentless pursuit of answers and criminals and her complicated relationship with her own morals. I also really like when she interacts with other heroes-- she's a little bit of an outsider to the broader hero community, so she has a slightly different perspective than they do sometimes.

As for Helena, I love her relentless pursuit of vengeance and justice and how she's sometimes not sure whether Huntress or Helena is the mask. Her origin stories differ slightly, but they mostly come down to the same broad strokes; I'm really interested in how she relates to her family legacy. The things she loves about her childhood memories and the things she hates about them, and how driven she is to destroy the mob now.

And I really love the two of them together: they work together well, they've got an easy dynamic with each other, they have complicated relationships with Gotham's other heroes, and they have morals that are often shades of gray. I just think they're great.

Lian Harper/Alya Raatko
I am absolutely obsessed with teen Lian. We know a little bit about how she's been living for the years she was separated from her family, but I'd love to see more about how it effected her now that they're reunited. And the introduction of Alya in Cheetah and Cheshire has not only given Lian a friendship with someone her own age outside her family for the first time in a while, but it also just has some cute moments. Give me the teen girls crushing on each other (or more) as they lounge by the pool or plan a heist!

Reading Guide: Cheetah and Cheshire Rob the Justice League (2025)

Stephanie Brown/Dinah Lance
Oh, what might have been! I'd be really into an AU where Dinah mentors Steph, and maybe she works with the Birds of Prey (and of course feelings grow). Or maybe after Steph "dies" and comes back they're reunited and work together on a case, or Steph starts working with the Birds then, or Dinah makes a point of reaching out to Steph at that point, and that's when something happens between them.

Veronica Cale/Diana
I think that Diana has a lot of respect for Veronica, but I also think that nothing would ever work out between them in the long term because she can't fully trust her and because Veronica's morals skew so far from her own. And on the flip side, I think that Veronica is intrigued by Diana but she doesn't really trust that Diana is exactly what she says she is, and will never fully be able to let her guard down around her.

I like both Rebirth and pre-Flashpoint versions of Veronica, whichever one you want to draw on.

Dinah Lance/F!Oliver Queen
love her on her own.

I also really love Ollie. He's earnest and awkward and cares so much, and he's stubborn and fucks up and fails the people he cares about. He's deeply flawed but he always tries to do better, and that's one of the things I love. I also really love him and Dinah together. They're not always good for each other, but they also deeply love each other and are always drawn back together. I love the "superhero domestic" vibe, when they're doing superhero stuff and talking about deeply mundane things or similar. I also love that Dinah is a better fighter and Ollie knows and loves that.

I'd be interested in how Ollie being a woman would change the dynamic between them! My personal preference would be for this to be an AU where she's always been a woman.

Leverage

Parker/Astrid Pickford
Enemies to lovers??? Look, I want more about the two of them as "nemeses", and we got a little taste of the two of them hating each other and then the two of them working together. Feel free to give me an AU with more of that.

Breanna Casey/Becky Wilson
What if you and your dad went on a road trip to check out colleges, and he brought along his coworker who is basically your age, and she knew him better than you did?

I'm so fascinated by what a Breanna/Becky relationship might look like. What does she know about Leverage, and when does she learn it? Does Breanna ever end up roping her into a case?

Maggie Collins/Parker
Maggie, the woman that you are. She takes everything the Leverage team does in complete stride, including the time she teams up with them.

And Parker is really invested in Maggie! She cares a lot about her safety and she's the one who packs her a bag when she's trying to get Maggie to leave the country after they get her out of prison. She doesn't really know many civilians, and Maggie isn't just any civilian. I don't know; I think they just have interesting chemistry.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Christine Chapel/Erica Ortegas
I really love the comfortable relationship between these two.

Christine Chapel/Number One | Una Chin-Riley
I really love what we see of a friendship between these two. They're really comfortable with each other and joke around with each other pretty easily

Star Wars (Marvel Comics)

Chelli Lona Aphra/Magna Tolvan
Their relationship is such a hot mess of constant betrayal and toxicity and I love it. They love each other and it almost doesn't even matter, because Aphra will never be loyal to a cause in the way Tolvan is.

Chelli Lona Aphra/Sana Starros
What if your toxic ex came back into your life and got you caught up in her maelstrom of chaos and adventure and by the time you could ditch her, you don't want to anymore? And you know it's going to end badly because it always does with Aphra, but maybe this time...

I love Aphra and Sana's relationship a lot! There's no way around it, Aphra is a terrible person and it's no surprise Sana wasn't thrilled to see her again, but they're also such a fun duo. I like that Sana also manages to be the conscience between the two of them (especially when she would probably be the morally gray rogue character in other team-ups in the Star Wars universe). I'd honestly love anything with them!

Chelli Lona Aphra/Leia Organa

Leia Organa/Evaan Verlaine
I would love anything about these two, especially if it pertains to them being survivors of Alderaan. I'd love to see more of them working together in the aftermath of the fall of the Empire.

Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

Amilyn Holdo/Leia Organa
Holdo's arc completely destroyed me. And that handclasp the two of them shared! They obviously have a lot of history, so anything from that would be amazing. I've also read Leia, Princess of Alderaan in which they first meet, so something referencing that era or the years in-between would be amazing. Please do not undo Holdo's amazing, heroic death though.

I've read Leia, Princess of Alderaan, so if you want to lean on that for Amilyn's characterization and/or Leia’s backstory, I'm totally there for that.
